A highly skilled lineout jumper, Earle represented Western Province at age- group level before making the step up to Vodacom Cup and Currie Cup rugby.

In 2010, the big lock forward's great defense and powerful ball-carrying abilities prompted the Lions to sign him for their Super Rugby campaign.

Earle enjoyed two great years with the Lions where he helped to turn the Johannesburg-based team's fortunes around, before making the move to Griquas.
