Gary Gold

After four years as assistant coach for South Africa, Gary Gold joined the Newcastle Falcons on a short-term deal as Director of Rugby. After a successful spell at the Falcons, Gold joined Bath on a three year contract.

Gold boasts vast Super 14 and Premiership experience having been head coach at London Irish and Western Province respectively.

Gold began his coaching career as assistant coach at London Irish in 2001 before being promoted to the position of head coach the following year.

After three seasons at Irish, Gold moved to Stormers as technical director prior to his switch to Western Province as head coach.

Joining the Springboks as forwards coach in 2008 under head coach Peter de Villiers, Gold was part of the South Africa set-up which won the Tri Nations as well as the British and Irish Lions series in 2009.
