South Africa Under-20 coach Dawie Theron has proven himself to be one of the most impressive coaches in the country over the last few years, primarily as head of Griquas.

Himself a former Springbok, Theron was the key factor behind the rapid development of Griquas in recent times. No longer merely filling up the numbers, Griquas have emerged as a real force in South African rugby and have been very unlucky in recent times not to secure a place in the Currie Cup semifinals.

Theron played rugby in both the Northern and Southern Hemisphere and has a great understanding of the game, particularly the technical side and, as you would expect, is a great mentor for front row forwards as well.

Extremely hard working, Theron is a 'no-nonsense' type of character who puts in the hard yards himself and expects the same from his players.
