JJ raring to go
Former WP and Stormers winger JJ Engelbrecht is keen to play a major part in the Vodacom Bulls' success this season.
Engelbrecht, who left WP late last year, and showed what a big loss he was when he was was named the WP Players' Player of the Year before his departure, chatted to Brendan Nel about his decision to move, and his goals at the Bulls.
“It was a huge decision for me to leave WP, especially as I’ve been a Province supporter for my whole life. It was also a great honour to get the Players’ Player of the Year award, and perhaps it was the way to say goodbye to Province,” Engelbrecht said.
“The move was about opportunities. I was at Western Province for four years and I never got an opportunity to play Super 15. The Bulls showed a lot of interest in me, and I think I will get that opportunity here. I see that as a major positive for my career.”
